Becoming VCP5: A little extra from VMware

VCP5After passing the VCP5 exam, I received the normal e-mail regarding the online transcript to fill in the correct information for sending me the paper certificate.

While filling in the information I noticed there was a new option called “VMware Workstation 8”. It seems VMware decided to grant 1 permanent license if you pass :-). Sadly there is no VMware Fusion 4 option, only VMware Workstation 8 (Windows or Linux). After completing the transcript it takes about 5 days before receiving your license.

Even tho most people will work with ESXi and not Workstation, this might be useful for a laptop (and you can always run ESXi in a Workstation VM!).
