With the vSphere 5 release VMware decided to drop some operating systems using the guest customization wizard. This was already announced with the 4.1 release notes and has gone active now. After passing the VCP5 exam, I received the normal e-mail regarding the online transcript to fill in the correct information for sending me the paper certificate. While filling in the information I noticed there was a new option called “VMware Workstation 8”. It seems VMware decided to grant 1 permanent license if you pass :-).
